What is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)?

An LMFT is a licensed mental health professional trained to support individuals, couples, and families through emotional and relational challenges. We are skilled in understanding how personal and family dynamics influence well-being, and we work with clients to create healthier relationships and a stronger sense of self.

What is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT)

An AMFT is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist. This is a pre-licensed mental health professional who has completed a master's degree in counseling, psychology, or a related field, and is working under supervision to gain the required clinical hours for full licensure.

Is therapy confidential?

Yes. Everything we discuss in therapy is kept private, with a few exceptions for your safety and the safety of others, as required by law. We will review these exceptions with you during our first session so you feel fully informed.

Do you offer in-person or online therapy?

We currently offer in-person at our Los Alamitos office as well as secure, HIPAA-compliant telehealth sessions for your comfort and convenience.

What types of clients do you work with?

We work with adults, couples, and families and adolescents who are navigating both everyday stressors and deeper emotional pain. Whether you're feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, working through relationship struggles, or healing from loss or trauma, this is a space where you can feel safe, supported, and seen.

How do I schedule an appointment?

You can get in contact with our therapists by submitting a form above, calling or texting our office number (714) 794-2884 , or sending an email to dnyirady@rippleeffectstherapy.org.

What can I expect in the first session?

Our first session is a gentle starting point. We’ll talk about what brings you to therapy, explore your goals, and begin getting to know each other. There’s no pressure — just a space for you to be heard and supported.

How long will therapy last?

The length of therapy varies from person to person. Some clients come for a few months to work through a specific challenge; others stay longer for deeper healing and growth. We’ll check in regularly to ensure the work we’re doing continues to feel meaningful and helpful.

Do you offer sliding scale rates?

Yes! We believe that access to our services should be affordable and inclusive, so we provide flexible pricing based on individual financial circumstances. If you're interested in sliding scale options, please contact us directly to discuss what might work best for you.

Do you accept Insurance?

Currently, we are able to direct bill for Aetna insurance plans. For all other health insurance plans, we can provide a superbill for out-of-network. For further information, feel free to contact us.

We are an out-of-network provider.

We've partnered with Mentaya
