Therapy That Looks At The Whole Picture

Because looking at one part of the story rarely leads to the answer. Individual therapy, couples therapy, family therapy, and child and adolescent therapy in Los Alamitos, and telehealth throughout California.

Our Approach

The Way We See It

A living room with a brown sofa, a beige armchair, a wooden side table, plants, a bookshelf, and a wall decoration of five textured panels resembling a beach scene with sand, water, and sky.

Most approaches treat the problem. We're more interested in the people experiencing it: where they came from, who they're connected to, and what they're moving toward. So we slow down and look at all of it together. Not to tell you what to do, but to help you find what you already know.

That wider view is almost always where the real work happens.

Our Therapists

Who You’ll Work With

Our therapists don't just share an office, they share a way of thinking.

Every therapist at Ripple Effects trained in one of the few COAMFTE-accredited programs in California, which means they are taught to look at the whole person and the relational systems they are a part of.

We consult with each other, challenge each other, and learn from each other. Not because we have to, but because our clients are better served when we're thinking together.

Our Services

What We Help With

Individual Therapy

A young man with short dark hair sitting on a chair indoors, wearing a plaid jacket over a gray shirt, with a jewelry chain around his neck, looking to his left. In the background, there are blurry shelves with bottles and containers.

Sometimes the hardest person to understand is yourself. Whether you're navigating anxiety, a major life change, a loss, or just a feeling you can't quite name — individual therapy gives you a space to slow down and figure out what's actually going on. No agenda, no judgment.

Just honest conversation with someone who's genuinely paying attention.

Couples Therapy

Two young men sitting on a gray couch, smiling, shaking hands, and having a conversation in a casual setting.

Most couples don't come in broken. They come in stuck — same argument, different week, neither person quite sure how they got here. We help you slow down, understand what's really happening beneath the surface, and figure out how to move forward.

Whether you're fighting for the relationship or trying to find clarity about what comes next, we start where you are.

Family Therapy

A multi-generational family of six posing in a pyramid formation on the beach with the ocean in the background. The group includes an older man, a young woman, a young boy, and a young girl.

Families are complicated. What looks like one person's problem is usually something the whole system is carrying. We work with the whole picture — the dynamics, the history, the things that don't get said — and help families find a way through that actually holds.

You don't have to agree on everything to start. You just have to show up.

Child and Adolescent Therapy

Smiling young woman with glasses wearing a plaid shirt and a graphic t-shirt, standing outdoors on a paved walkway with a grassy area and trees in the background.

Kids and teenagers don't always have the words for what they're feeling — but they're usually trying to tell us something. We meet them where they are, keep parents in the loop, and look at the whole picture.

That's usually when things start to make a lot more sense.

Our Process

Here’s How It Goes:

Step 1

Free 15-Minute Consultation

Young man with dark, wavy hair and glasses sitting on a gray couch, talking on a mobile phone while using a silver laptop, in a cozy living room with a brick wall, bookshelves, a guitar, and decorative items.

A short call to see if we're a good fit — no pressure, no commitment.

Step 2

Your First Session

Two people sitting in a waiting area; one person holds a tissue in their hands, while the other person, dressed in business attire, holds a clipboard and pen.

You tell us what's going on, and we talk through your goals.

Step 3

The Work

Two people sitting on a sofa having a conversation in a modern living room. A woman with short dark hair and a striped shirt is speaking, while a man with dark hair, glasses, and a mustard sweater listens and smiles. There are glasses of water, a plant, and books on shelves in the background.

Sessions are weekly. The work goes at whatever speed makes sense for you.
